I walked the beach on Monday and discovered a little tower.

When I was telling a friend a few days later I discovered that she and her son had made the tower while they were visiting the beach earlier in the afternoon.

She hurried through her morning ablutions. The dress she had chosen to wear was hung on the hook of the closet. It was hot pink, fuchsia really. She had chosen it because she looked spectacular in it. Every spare minute and a gazillion dollars at the gym would do that for a girl. They had been together for 8 years and she wanted to be sure she was looking her very best for this wedding. He may actually be marrying this tart but she was going to damn well make sure he knew what he was missing. The wedding was at the firehouse. Who did that anyway?

L is for well Loved

When my daughter was just in kindergarten her teacher had a special term for dog eared and tattered books. She called them well-loved. Personally, that is my favorite kind of book to read and I am always picking up second hand books for just that reason.

It is also my favorite type of jeans to wear and my favorite type of shoes as well. So, in honor of the letter L I give you Joe’s shoes. Well loved and set down in the kitchen doorway for ease of occupancy later. The fact that he is still wearing them well into a New England winter, mild though it may have been so far, does give you a clue as to exactly how well loved they are.

Ever since they had first starting “budding” the girls had done everything together. They were a team…two peas in a pod. But after tomorrow morning things would be different. One of those bodacious tatas would be surgically removed. The damn thing didn’t play as a team or perhaps it took the hit for both of them. Either way the tittie team was breaking up. And this was only the beginning of the long road ahead of her.

It was the eve of her 49th birthday…or something like the eve anyway…Her children had long since grown up and moved away and so as a matter of fact had her husband…two of them actually.. but whose counting?

Lately, she had found herself circling back around and discovering parts of past selves . She found herself grabbing bits and pieces of the “her” that had been lost along the way.

It’s not so bad to let loose of who you are in order to make room for who you once wanted to be.
It’s good to go back for the good stuff sometimes.
